The management at Senderismo Lanzarote is very much aware of the growing global concern for the preservation of the natural environment and also the part it plays in its preservation for the present and future generations.
One of its main objectives is the education and environmental awareness of its partners and clients, as the best part of its leisure activities are outdoors in contact with nature. Therefore, nature is of outmost importance, for us.
Senderismo Lanzarote aims towards the responsible use of natural resources and is committed to minimize the environmental impact of its activities and services to avoid adverse side effects on its partners, colleagues, the local community and the environment. Making use of the expertise of its guides and instructors to keep the areas visited as they found them or if possible improved.
The principles we follow to achieve this are:
- The efficient management the local environment as a priority of the organization
- To raise awareness and to educate in the implementation of good environmental practices.
- To encourage the use of traditional farming methods for an optimal production with a minimal environmental impact.
- To prevent the dumping of residues and minimize fume emissions.
- To reduce, when possible, the generation of residues and to encourage and maximize recycling. Ensuring the responsible handling and disposal of dangerous substances, if any.
- To encourage the sustainable use of facilities.
- To control current practices whilst introducing constant improvements.
- Risk and impact evaluation for new projects and investments.
- Constant motivation and guidance in the care of the natural environment.
